Inspired by Billy Strings' prized 1940 Martin D-28, the Martin D-28 Billy Strings Signature Acoustic Guitar combines legendary dreadnought tone with custom features designed for one of today's most exciting acoustic guitarists. Built with a solid spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, and traditional dovetail neck construction, this signature model delivers the rich bass, powerful projection, and articulate response that have made the D-28 an acoustic guitar icon.

What makes this D-28 particularly special is its custom 25-inch scale length, slightly shorter than a traditional Martin dreadnought. This design reduces string tension for a more comfortable playing feel, making fast flatpicking runs, intricate melodies, and expressive bends easier to execute. The custom 1 23/32-inch nut width and Modified Low Oval neck profile with Standard Taper provide excellent comfort and control across the fingerboard.

Traditional Martin craftsmanship is on full display with forward-shifted, Golden Era scalloped spruce X-bracing, designed to enhance resonance, responsiveness, and dynamic range. The result is a guitar that responds beautifully to everything from delicate fingerpicking to aggressive bluegrass flatpicking.

Vintage-inspired appointments include a gloss spruce top with antique toner, bold herringbone trim, antique white binding, an ebony fingerboard with abalone diamond and square inlays, and exclusive nickel enclosed-gear tuning machines with butterbean buttons.
